About me

Hello! I am Charos. I came to Canada from Uzbekistan, a Central Asian country.

I worked as an editor and journalist in my home country. Currently, I am exploring social sciences, gender studies, political science, and gaming at the University of Alberta. I gained valuable experience in settlement service organizations while assisting with workshops, drop-in sessions, and programs. I like reading comics, travelling, journaling, taking pictures, collecting coins from different countries, and listening to birds chirping. Though I am a newcomer here, I hope this country will one day accept my family and me.

Projects

• What do we read: this project has been successfully established with the Afisha-Gazeta.uz company in 2022 and has been ongoing since then. In this project, writers, professors, leaders, officials, and enthusiasts recommend books on the website, with descriptions, ratings, and brief explanations presented in video format. During the process, I was able to list the books we can translate into Uzbek.

• 1000 kitob - this large-scale project I joined with the Youth Agency of the country, and translated and edited books from different languages into Uzbek. This project was funded by the government.
